Description

This was inspired by PulledThroughTime's sound-scape contest.

Initially, when I was listening to this, the first thought to pop into my head was "What in the world am I going to do to portray this?", but after leaving it on a loop, I started to connect with it on a personal level. First it felt empty and alone, but then it picked up, as if searching for something in a void. That made me think about looking into an animals eyes. Think about that questionable depth of having a cat look at you. At first you only see a furry face, but quickly, you hone in on the eyes, the unfamiliar eyes of a non-human. You question what they see and how they view the world. You want to know their thought process, and why they decide to do what they do. Is it instinct? Can it be something so simple? So my question to you is, what do you see when you look into an animals eyes?

I plan on doing a large series on this. So far I have two works

"Modern birds are characterised by feathers, a beak with no teeth, the laying of hard-shelled eggs, a high metabolic rate, a four-chambered heart, and a lightweight but strong skeleton. All living species of birds have wings. Many species undertake long distance annual migrations, and many more perform shorter irregular movements. Birds are social; they communicate using visual signals and through calls and songs, and participate in social behaviours, including cooperative breeding and hunting, flocking, and mobbing of predators. The vast majority of bird species are socially monogamous, usually for one breeding season at a time, sometimes for years, but rarely for life." -Wikipedia
